I’m an illustrator based in Durham, NC

I’ve worked with a wide variety of clients such as Virgin Voyages, Scholastic, PBS, A&E, and Wizards of the Coast. My work has appeared on New York Times Bestselling novels, such as Legendborn by Tracy Deonn (Simon and Schuster).

I blend traditional and digital painting techniques, focusing on color, light, and effective visual storytelling. One of my biggest goals with my work is celebrating the beauty of human variation and the stories we have to tell, and balancing that with curiosity and a love of the natural world. My educational background is medical illustration, and I hold a Masters degree in medical illustration from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

I am exclusively represented by Elise Howard at Defiore & Co.

Every illustration I create is the product of my own expertise, education, and personal experiences. I do not incorporate generative AI into my workflow, and have no plans of doing so in the future.

My Approach

Collaboration

My goal is to focus on the client’s core vision and needs for the project while using my expertise to build on and expand the vision as requested. Client satisfaction and clear communication is extremely important to me.

Punctuality

There are many different factors that must come together in order to bring a project to life. I always send deliverables in a timely manner and remain laser focused on the established timeline to ensure that the client can seamlessly combine my work with the other aspects of completing the project, such as printing and marketing.

Artistry

I am devoted to my craft and doing it well. My educational background and work experience have instilled in me high standards and attention to detail, and I consider it essential to meet those standards with every project.
